This little venture all started with a single email, many years ago. Out of the blue, someone from Mongolia reached out, asking if we could exchange South African banknotes for Mongolian ones. Curious, I agreed — and a few weeks later, a small package arrived that would change everything.

Inside were beautifully detailed Mongolian banknotes. As I held them in my hands, I realised I was touching a piece of a country I might never get the chance to visit. It wasn’t just paper — it was culture, history, and human connection. That moment sparked something in me. I found myself researching Mongolia, learning about its people, traditions, and stories — all because of those notes. And just like that, my casual interest in currency became a full-blown passion for numismatics.
